For optimal performance, it is recommended to replace the Vapor Pad (water panel) at the beginning of each heating season. Mineral buildup can reduce efficiency over time.
Check that the water supply is turned on, the electrical power is connected, and the humidistat is set high enough to call for humidity. Also, verify that the furnace blower is operating, as many models are interlocked with the HVAC system.
UV purifiers like the Second Wind or Nebula series are typically installed in the supply side duct just above the condensing coil (A-coil) to prevent biological growth, though they can also be installed on the return side depending on the model and space availability.
